Climate Roundtable advises companies, to ensure that they comply with all relevant legislation including for example in Australia the National Greenhouse Reporting Act 2007 (Commonwealth). In the United States the California Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006 and the AB 32 program design and aspects of the North Eastern states RGGI which is the first mandatory, market-based CO2 emissions reduction program in the United States. In addition we keep companies apprised of the impact of the Obama administration on climate change solutions in the United States.
Climate Roundtable liaises closely with the executives of the European Climate Exchange and the Chicago Climate Exchange on a regular basis both for trading initiatives and in relation to current carbon enterprises for investment purposes. The Chicago exchange ceased to trade in carbon in 2010 but still has many member firms who conduct trade in carbon by way of bilateral sales.
It is imperative that companies take advantage of opportunities in the various forthcoming carbon regulatory regimes. Climate Roundtable will advise companies how best to position themselves for any Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme or Carbon tax or Carbon pricing mechanism in Australia and United States. This includes provision of advice on the New Zealand cap and trade system currently in operation. The cap is the environmental cap that works by issuing a set number of permits, and allowing entities to trade permits, thereby putting a price on carbon.
Climate Roundtable will assess, analyse, account for and advise on compliance with the scheme for the company.
In addition Climate Roundtable will manage if required the carbon reduction to ensure ongoing compliance as further legislation regulation and guidelines are put in place.
In the event that it is necessary then Climate Roundtable will provide advice for the trading of any excess permits or the acquisition of credits in the market as part of the compliance process. We will find the appropriate project for your company to minimise the cost of the implementation of the the emission reduction on your company
